MCH and Kronenberger & Sons Restoration, Inc. Receive High Praise

Mercy Community Health's Archbishop John F. Whealon Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy received first place in the Historical Restoration category at this year's Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Connecticut Chapter Excellence in Construction Awards.  Mercy Community Health and Kronenberger & Sons Restoration, Inc. were feted for completing operations with minimal interference into the daily operations of Saint Mary Home, attention to safety, health and fire code, and quality of renovation of a historic space.  In accepting the award, Kronenberger & Sons Restoration, Inc. acknowledged the collaboration among MCH, Amenta/Emma Architects and their team as a key factor in the success of the redesigned Chapel.
"We are very proud that a space so sacred to The Mercy Community has been recognized as a standard-bearer by Connecticut's Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors," said Mercy Community Health's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Stephen T. Surprenant.  "The committee that worked on the vision for the Chapel was very dedicated to ensuring that the design and construction paid appropriate tribute to both the late Archbishop Whealon and to the Sisters of Mercy.  We're very gratified to see that we succeeded in maintaining integrity on that level as well as in the structural sense."
