Saint Mary Home Hosts May Events for Family Caregivers

In May, Saint Mary Home continues working not only with those seniors struggling with the effects of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia, but also with their families.  On Tuesday, May 11, Alzheimer Foundation of America-qualified Dementia Care Specialist Eileen Cleary will host the monthly meeting of the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group for the Spouse from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Callaghan Crossing Family Room at Saint Mary Home .  First-time attendees are welcome. 

On Thursday, May 13 at 4:30 p.m., guest speaker Nancy Carlson, APRN, will present the “essentiALZ Family Care Program” in Saint Mary Home’s Center 1 Dining Room.  This program will be sponsored by Martha Lamando of Forest Senior Care.

Both events are free of charge and open to the public.  Because refreshments are served, advance registration is encouraged but not mandatory.  To register or receive more information, contact Eileen Cleary, Saint Mary Home ’s director for Dementia Education and Programming, at 860.570.8335 or ecleary.smh@mchct.org.
