When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is wrought in our life, or in the life of another. - Helen Keller
Want to become a Mercy Community Health Volunteer?
We are fortunate to have a wide base of volunteers at Mercy Community Health -- individuals who range from 15 years old to 90 years old and include family members, residents, neighbors, college interns and high school students. Volunteers can participate in a range of services, such as :
  • Working in the gift shop
  • Proving pastoral care by serving as transporters, Eucharistic ministers and spiritual companions
  • Pet therapy
  • Clown therapy
  • Socializing with residents
  • Participating in recreational activities

As a volunteer, you can make an important impact on our residents' day-to-day lives. As one of our own McAuley residents put it, "The world's problems are so overwhelming -- nothing I can do would make a difference. But when I volunteer to shop for a fellow resident who can't leave his apartment, I see the difference my efforts make in a person's life. I feel good about doing it."

In very familiar words, it's in giving that we receive.
